We’ve been reflecting on what has been quite the different 2020 from what we at Ginger & Sanders thought it would be 12 months ago. As with all agents going into a new year, we expect it to be filled with exciting and hard but rewarding challenges and 2020 has had all of this and so much more.
Having to close our office and work from home for 8 weeks, Zita had to deal with her inherited cat loving to walk over her laptop keyboard, and then we came back to an unexpected buoyant market. Despite COVID, the market has unexpectedly seen a rise in properties coming to the market for both the sales and lettings departments.
We have had to change our way of working with how we operate both in the office and with our appointments making sure we were able to deliver our service in a safe and COVID secure way.
This year also saw our lettings department celebrate its 8th year and our sales department its 3rd year with a socially distanced smaller celebration, having pizza and drinks in the office with staff.
We introduced on our sales side a fantastic new marketing package which includes professional photography, 360 Virtual tours and floor plans all now standard as part of our service.
James our Letting Negotiator celebrated his 2nd year with us and has enrolled to gain RICS qualifications.
We have missed out on our fantastic networking events but hope they will be back very soon.
We did have the pleasure of spending a weekend at The Beacon Centre at a Lifestyle event where we had a stall to promote the business and had a fantastic Hamper giveaway.
We have still been able to give back this year to our chosen charity (The Salvation Army) with Daniel in May 2020 doing his 5k Run every day raising over £650 and losing nearly 2 stone, and in December giving a further £500.
Finally as is tradition in December we held our annual prize draw where one lucky vendor and one lucky landlord had the chance to pay £0 commission and 6 months’ free management. Not even COVID would stop this annual tradition!
