Peter recently worked four days in his role as volunteer at The Big Cat Sanctuary during Big Cat Fest held over two weeks at the sanctuary. He also spent a day helping to man the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF UK) which he became involved with after his fundraising expedition to Namibia. In fact, Ginger & Sanders decided to sponsor the stand so any monies raised at the open days could go straight into helping the conservation of cheetahs.
The Cheetah is the most endangered wild cat in Africa! With less than 7,000 estimated to be left, their numbers have been decimated by human-wildlife conflict and the illegal pet trade. Conservationist and Cheetah Conservation Fund Trustee, Giles Clark has seen the plight of the Cheetah first hand, and it's made him determined to raise funds and awareness to #SavetheCheetah and therefore is taking part in an ultra-marathon, later in the year, across Namibia to raise awareness and funds for cheetah conservation. He gave an interesting daily talk and insight into Cheetahs during week one of the Big Cat Fest.
