The second Annual ChildrenWith Cancer Fund Diner took place on Thursday 16th April at LaLocanda Del Luca where 110 local supporters enjoyed a stunning threecourse meal whilst raising funds for this amazing of charities. Ben and histeam at the restaurant managed to cook all the meals to order which not onlywas an achievement but then over £12,000 was raised which the ChildrenWith Cancer Fund can use not only for the children suffering with cancerbut their families. Mojo Magic provided professional close-up magicin-between courses, a game of heads and tails, raffle and auction hosted by theone and only James Hanaway.
The aim of this charity is togrant wishes to children up to the age of eighteen, and their families, whohave, or have had, cancer and who primarily live in East Sussex, Brighton, andHove. Wishes can be practical, medical, or fun and made to individual familiesas well as supporting a group together by giving them quality family time. Theyalso support local hospitals and community nurses who assist in the care of thechildren under their remit.
Once again, the evening was agreat success and a credit to all who were involved. Our thanks go out to thesponsors Mango Insurance, Uptons Sales and Lettings plus Ginger& Sanders Residential Block Management plus all those who kindlydonated prizes and of course everyone who attended and made donations. ChrisDownton, the founder of the charity, was thrilled with the amount raised andsaid this would really help them help those who truly need it.
